JBSA is four places, not one gate
Which location is on the orders decides which gate table to use. Lackland, Randolph, Fort Sam Houston, and Camp Bullis are separate. A 24/7 gate is the one that covers a daily commute. Limited-hour gates and commercial gates are weekday windows. The town pages on this site measure their mornings to one Randolph gate: Lindsey (Main) Gate.
Every hour below is from the JBSA Gate Hours page, checked 2026-10-04. The page lists these dates as closed: May 25, June 19, July 3, Sept. 7, Oct. 12, Nov. 11, Nov. 26, and Dec. 25.

JBSA-Camp Bullis
JBSA-Camp Bullis is open 24/7, including the federal holidays listed with the Fort Sam Houston gates. Camp Bullis is its own location: more than 27,000 acres in Bexar County, northwest of San Antonio. Its hours are not a row inside the Fort Sam Houston table.

Getting on base
People without a valid CAC, an ID or privilege card, or a locally issued DBIDS pass report to a JBSA Visitor Control Center. Criminal background checks are conducted on all individuals requesting access. Which center is open depends on the location. At Lackland, Valley Hi VCC is 24/7 and Luke East VCC is temporarily closed, with that function moved to Valley Hi VCC. At Randolph, Lindsey VCC is 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and it closes when the side gates close on holidays and resiliency days. At Fort Sam Houston, BAMC/I-35 VCC is 24/7 and Walters VCC is 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
